Aknowledgements
The Event Organiser would like to extend his personal
thanks to the European Economic Association and to the Econometric Society,
and in particular to Prof. Peter Neary, President of the European Economic
Association, to its Secretary Prof. Henry Tulkens, to all members of
its Executive Committee, and to its Secretariat, to Prof. Guy Laroque,
President of the Econometric Society, to its Treasury Prof. Robert Gordon,
to its Secretary Ms. Julie Gordon, to all members of its Executive Committee,
and to the Secretary of its European Standing Committee Prof. Rafael
Repullo, for their important support and co-operation.
Thanks to Prof. Thierry Verdier, Prof. Helmut Bester, Prof. Martin Browning
and to all of the EEA and ESEM Programme Committee Members, whose competence
and hard work has assured the highest level of scientific content in
the Congress.
The exceptional support received from the local Italian authorities,
in particular from Prof. Paolo Costa, Dr. Antonio Padoan, Dr. Vito Lubes
and above all Prof. Ignazio Musu during some of the more difficult moments
of the Congress organisation, must be acknowledged. Recognition must
also go to the administrative offices of the Palazzo Ducale and the
Venice Civic Museums, in particular Dr. Marino Cortese and Dr. Gianni
Pastro. Dr. Renato Quaglia and Dr. Franco Bernabè from The Venice
Biennale must also be acknowledged for the enormous collaboration afforded
in the organisation of the Social Programme. The local transport system
in Venice, the ACTV (Azienda del Consorzio Trasporti Veneziano), should
be acknowledged for its collaboration with the Congress Transportation.
